Ah…the dog days of summer. We had high temperatures, and high humidity this past weekend. There was no way I was going to turn on the oven or the stove. What’s left? The BBQ! We have, admittedly, a very old gas bbq. It’s been good to us. It’s not huge, it’s not shiny. But it does the trick. One rack of pork ribs was enough for the two of us, with a nice glass of wine, and some store bought potato salad — tasty! The pork ribs were rubbed with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and some applewood spice as well. We cooked them on super high for a few minutes, then turned it down to cook low and slow for a couple of hours. This is what they looked like before we ate them all!

Summer is just about over — it seems that it’s business as usual at work, and at home. I’ll remember this hot weekend, and those yummy ribs for weeks to come. 🙂
